About Simultech
Simultech - the center for medical simulation of the General Health Services, located at the Medical Center Meir, Kfar Saba, since 2009. In this training center the trainees are exposed to various clinical scenarios requiring medical knowledge, technical skills and communication with patients. The training makes use of innovative procedures developed specifically for this environment. The training is provided on an individual basis, structured and adapted to the trainee`s background. All the stages of the procedure are photographed and computerized. Simultech is an independent super-organizational center, available for all medical teams inside the General Health Services and outside the organization.
On the day of training we make use of advanced technologies, actors and training staff who accompany the trainees and mirror their capacities.
The Vision
To establish a medical simulation center with the aim of improving the quality and safety of medical treatment.
Aims
To Improve the different variables related to the encounter between the physician and the patient
To create an organizational culture emphasizing the quality of medical care and the safety of the patient.
To mirror the strengths and weaknesses (of the trainee) in the specific area of training.
The training activities
Since the establishment of Simultech in 2009, it has focused on the field of obstetric and gynecological Ultrasound. The duration of the training day is 6 hours, during which the trainees are exposed to clinical descriptions ( intakes) and communication skills. The simulation includes the use of educational computer programs and computerized verbal feedbacks given by a female instructor. The training also includes the use of a doll-simulator and virtual simulation (imaging) of Ultrasound. At present Simultech is engaged in additional fields of knowledge as well.

About Prof. Ronnie Tepper

Born in Rishon Letzion, descendant of the founders of the town.
Served as a pilot in the Israeli Air-force.
Graduated from the Sakler School of Medicine at the Tel Aviv University with distinction.
Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Head of the Ultrasound Unit of the Dept. of
Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Meir hospital at Kfar Saba.
Founder and Director of Simultech, the center for medical simulation of the General Health Services,
Founder and director of the academic school of Ultrasound of the Israeli Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Chairman of the Israeli Society of Ultrasound in the years 2010-2013.
Lecturer at the School of Medicine at the Tel Aviv University. Author of 160 articles published in professional journals.
Registered as the inventor of patents in the medical field.
Initiated the construction of the first simulator in the world for Ultrasound and a technology of training based on the collection of 3-D sonographic information and its
processing with the help of location sensors in space.
Initiated and constructed an innovative surgical instrument which enables the transition of surgical procedures based on intuition to procedures directed by Ultrasound imaging - a technique aiming to enhance the accuracy and safety of the procedure and the reduction of the rate of complications.
Partner in the development of computerized algorithms to improve the identification of malignant tumors.
The swift progress of the field of imaging based on Ultrasound, motivated Prof. Tepper to found the academic school of Ultrasound. The school, located at the Meir hospital, enables professionals to learn the Ultrasound technology in Obstetrics and Gynecology. The school is open to every professional in the medical field - specialists, specializing physicians, technicians and nurses, anxious to broaden their knowledge in the field.
The school opened in the early 2000`s and has since trained thousands of students from Israel and other countries.
His experience as a pilot trained on a simulator and as a teacher of medical skills formed the basis for the establishment of Simultech.
Simultech acts as the training extension for medical skills of the General Health Services. The management of the division of hospitals of the General Health Services together with the management of the Meir hospital as its executive arm, are responsible for the activities of the a.m. simulation center. Simultech renders service to all the employees of the organization in hospitals and communities.
The success of the activities of the center has encouraged the spread of training to other fields as well. At present training is carried out in the field of respiration of the patient outside intensive treatment units, surgical skills in the field of laparoscopy and revival of newborns.
